Agents and Adjusters licensed in NC must complete 24 hours of Continuing Education for one license or any combination of licenses, every two years. The Biennial Compliance period (24 months) is determined by his/her birthdate. Your required 24 hours must be completed by the last day of your birth month in either an odd or even year depending on when you were born.
Property Insurance
24 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Ethics course every compliance period and a 3-hour Flood course every other compliance period.
Casualty Insurance
24 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Ethics course every compliance period and a 3-hour Flood course every other compliance period.
Life Insurance
24 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Ethics course every compliance period.
Health Insurance
24 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Ethics course every compliance period.
Medicare Supplement/Long-Term Care Insurance
24 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Ethics course every compliance period.
For agents who sell Long-Term Care Partnership products, an initial 8-hour Partnership Training Course is required. After this initial course, a 4-hour Partnership Refresher is required every compliance period.
Adjusters
24 hours of continuing education, including a 3-hour Ethics course every compliance period and a 3-hour Flood course every other compliance period.
